LLDS is a design and architectural practice that extends design and craft sensibility through digital technologies. Established in 2012, we are a group of architects, designers, researchers, technologists, and makers led by David Leggett and Paul Loh; both are architects registered in Australia and the UK, respectively.
The practice operates on the scale of the city, building, interior, and furniture. Our works have been exhibited and received awards in Australia and the UK. Our research in material practice has been published in international journals and discussed at international forums. We make new tools for robotic fabrication, including a patent technology that reduces waste in concrete panel fabrication. In 2017, we were appointed as Zaha Hadid's furniture maker for a new apartment show suite in Melbourne.
Both partners are educators and have led workshops and lectured in Melbourne, Sweden, Italy, China, the US, and the UK. Their research focuses on the cognitive engagement of spatial, material and narrative making through digital media, from robotics to virtual reality.
LLDS is a registered practice (700025) in Victoria.
Design for a Sustainable Future
